CHILDREN'S SERVICES
Children's Services provides
coordinated child care and development resources for children, parents and child
care providers; and provides resource collaboration for social service and
educational agencies and community groups. The Children's Services programs
include:
RESOURCE & REFERRAL
- Information to help parents find
child care
- Information and training for licensed
day care providers for children from birth through 12 years
RESPITE
- Child care by referral for children
at risk or in need of protection from child abuse or neglect
ALTERNATIVE PAYMENT /
FEDERAL BLOCK GRANT
- Child care for children from income
eligible families for children at risk of abuse or neglect, ages
birth to 12 year
GENERAL CHILD CARE
- Full-day child care, based on
eligibility, for children ages 3 through 5
- The center is open from morning until
evening, providing breakfast, lunch and PM snack
- Eligibility is based on income;
parents must be either working, in school or a workstudy program
- Program provides hands-on high scope
philosophy for children 3-5 years
- Provides all Head Start services
FAMILY DAY CARE FOOD
PROGRAM
- Nutritious meals for children in
licensed family day care and training in nutrition for child
care providers
CHILD CARE CENTER FOOD
PROGRAM
- Nutritious meals for children
enrolled in the Migrant Children's Center or Head Start
CHILDCARE FOR
AGRICULTURE RELATED EMPLOYEES (C.A.R.E.)
- Developmentally appropriate day care
program for children of eligible migrant families, ages 6 weeks
to 5 years
- Nurturing environment; provides meals
HEAD START
- Services to families that will
promote their personal growth and growth within their community
- Early childhood education services to
all children, including those with special needs
- Environment that promotes cognitive,
social, emotional and gross motor learning and exploration for
children 4-5 years old
- Provides services to families to
promote their personal growth and growth within their community
- Dental and medical screenings done
for children with follow-up referrals if necessary, nutrition
and hygiene education for children and families, special
education services provided when necessary
LOCAL PLANNING COUNCIL
- Child care and development services
based on the needs of families in our communities
INFANT /
TODDLER PROGRAM
- Funded by the General Childcare
Program
- Serves children 0 through 2
- Fees are based upon a sliding scale
process / subsidized care
- Developmentally appropriate
activities are provided
- Daily individual activity reports on
each child
HOME BASE
- Provides all Head Start services in
the family home setting to 3-year-old children
- Group socializations are provided
monthly for parental growth and education
HEALTHY
START GRANT PROJECT
- Family center for school linked,
integrated health and human services
PRIMARY
INTERVENTION PROGRAM
- Early detection of and intervention
in emotional, behavioral and learning problems
CHILD CARE
HEALTH CONSULTATION
- Provide Child Care Health Consultation
Services to Child Care providers in Colusa County
